Almost 1 million U.S. households made up of same-sex partners
ORLANDO, Fla. — 5 years following the U.S. Supreme Court legalized marriages that are same-sex the U.S., significantly more than a half million households are built up of hitched same-sex couples, relating to numbers the U.S. Census Bureau circulated Thursday.
The number of married same-sex households has increased by almost 70 percent, rising to 568,110 couples in 2019, according to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey since 2014, the year before the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same sex marriages.
Associated with the 980,000 same-sex couple households reported in 2019, 58 per cent had been maried people and 42 % had been unmarried lovers, the study revealed.
There were somewhat more couple that is female than male few households.
